Porcelain fillings closely mimic the characteristics of a natural tooth, do not contain metal, and allow light to flow through and reflect for a beautiful and natural-looking smile. Porcelain also adheres to the tooth structure and will strengthen the tooth, whereas metal fillings can crack or break the tooth as the temperature of the metal changes.

How Are Porcelain Fillings Applied?

Applying porcelain fillings is also easier than applying traditional metal fillings, since less of the natural tooth is removed. When possible, we prefer to fill a damaged tooth instead of placing a crown.
