What can a smile makeover include?
It depends on what your smile needs, and most plans combine more than one treatment. A plan might include teeth whitening, porcelain veneers or Lumineers, bonding for small chips, Invisalign to straighten teeth, and crowns or implants to rebuild or replace teeth. Dr. Frey recommends a combination only after looking at your teeth, gums and bite together at your consultation.
How long does a smile makeover take?
It depends on the treatments in your plan. Smaller changes such as whitening or bonding take few visits, while a plan that includes orthodontics or implants, or that settles gum and bite concerns first, takes longer. What is a mini smile makeover?
A mini smile makeover is a smaller plan built from conservative treatments, such as whitening, bonding or a few minimal prep veneers, for concerns like discoloration, small chips or slight misalignment. Is a smile makeover permanent?
No cosmetic treatment lasts forever, and how long your results last depends on the treatments in your plan and how you care for them. Some, such as whitening, need occasional touch ups, and all of them benefit from brushing and flossing, regular checkups, and a custom night guard if you grind your teeth. Can a smile makeover be reversed?
Some parts can and some cannot. Porcelain veneers and crowns need some enamel removed, so they are a lasting commitment, while bonding and Lumineers touch little or no enamel, and Lumineers are in most cases reversible.
